    Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information, updated poster art, large photos andvideos for ULTRAMAN TAIGA THE MOVIE: NEW GENERATION CLIMAX (劇場版ウルトラマンタイガ ニュージェネクライマックス, Gekijō-ban Urutoraman Taiga Nyū Jene Kuraimakkusu). The latest Ultraman theatrical feature film was originally planned to open in Japanese cinemas on Friday, March 6, 2020, but was postponed until Friday, August 7, 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

    Tsuburaya has also released a revised theatrical trailer and a special message video from Ultraman Taiga, guiding fans on how to prevent the spread of coronavirus during screenings of the film.

    ULTRAMAN TAIGA THE MOVIE continues from the ULTRAMAN TAIGA (ウルトラマンタイガ, Urutoraman Taiga) television series that aired from July 6-December 28, 2019. The son of the legendary Ultra Brother, Ultraman Taro., Taiga formed a team called the Tri-Squad with two other Ultramen, Titus and Fuma. The three heroes have integrated with Hiroyuki Kudo (Yuki Inoue), allowing the earthling to transform into multiple Ultramen.

    ULTRAMAN TAIGA was the last of the “New Generation Heroes” series that began with ULTRAMAN GINGA (ウルトラマンギンガ, Urutoraman Ginga) in 2013. With seven consecutive series in as many years, the New Generation Heroes line has had the longest run in the entire Ultraman franchise. All of the New Generation Heroes return in ULTRAMAN TAIGA THE MOVIE, combing their energy with Taiga, Titus and Fuma to become a new hero, Ultraman Reiga.

    As an added bonus, the heroes Hiroyuki, Katsumi Minato (Yuya Hirata), Isami Minato (Ryosuke Koike), Riku Asakura (Tatsuomi Hamada), Gai Kurenai (Hideo Ishiguro), Daichi Ozora (Kensuke Takahashi), Shou (Kiyotaka Uji) and Hikaru Raido (Takuya Negishi) will appear in new weekly “Thank You” message videos to be shown following the movie’s end credits. These videos can only be seen in cinemas, and will change each Friday during the film’s theatrical run. The ULTRAMAN TAIGA THE MOVIE official website will announce which characters/actors will appear that week.

    “THREE PLEDGES” MESSAGE FROM ULTRAMAN TAIGA TO SAFELY ENJOY THE MOVIE

    Released alongside the extended theatrical trailer, the “Three Pledges” message video offers easy-to-understand infection-control procedures for ensure safe viewing for children and fans. It begins with Taiga yelling “Everyone, wait! The release date of ULTRAMAN TAIGA THE MOVIE: NEW GENERATION CLIMAX has been set for August 7th. Please remember what I say here and come to the movie theater!”

    *We place the highest priority on customer safety, and depending on future trends in the spread of the coronavirus infection, the movie’s release may be postponed again or it may be pulled from cinemas after its opened. If it is postponed again, we will announce it on the movie’s official website, so please check there before going out. Please also check with each theater to confirm the screening status after the movie’s release.”

    STORY

    Hiroyuki Kudo, who works as a member of the private security organization E.G.I.S., has the ability to transform into three Ultramen: Taiga, Titus, and Huma. The ties between Hiroyuki and Taiga have deepened after their battles with numerous enemies.

    But Hiroyuki has discovered he is being targeted by an unknown enemy. The New Generation Heroes Ultraman Ginga, Victory, X, Orb, Geed, Rosso and Blu come together to help him. Taiga’s father, Ultraman Taro, also travels to Earth… only to violently attack his son!

    What happened to Taro? And can Taiga fight his own father!?

    Now, the New Generation Heroes must challenge the terrible power of darkness!

    Taiga’s father is Ultraman Taro, one of the most popular Ultram Heroes of all time. Having inheried Taro’s genes, Taiga presents a link between the past and the new generation!

    While fighting in outer in space, Taiga formed a team called the Tri-Squad with Ultraman Titus from Nebula U40 and Fuma from O-50. All three Ultramen have united with the earthling, Hiroyuki Kudo, meaning that Hiroyuki can use the power of these three Ultra Heroes. A main character who can transform into multiple Ultramen is a first in the Ultra Series!

    An official ULTRAMAN TAIGA THE MOVIE channel has been launched on “GIF MAGAZINE”, one of the largest GIF platforms in Japan. Tsuburaya are now delivering GIFs that introduce the New Generation Heroes and GIF stamps that can be used on LINE. They plan to release additional content in the future.     Welcome to SciFi Japan, your source for news and information on science fiction, horror, fantasy and action movies, TV shows and videos.. from classics and old favorites, to upcoming productions and home video releases, to the odd and obscure titles you may never have heard of!

    The mainstream press has largely ignored Japanese tokusatsu (special effects) films, and when the genre has been covered by American news outlets and television the results were often inaccurate and condescending. On the other hand, there have been some excellent fan publications and websites devoted to these films, but Japanese studios have been extremely reluctant to deal with fan groups due to concerns over copyright infringement issues (some fans advocate and promote activities such as video bootlegging and unlicensed downloading). With no direct access to studio news and photos, fan reporting has often been forced to rely on secondhand info and rumors.

    What was missing was a professionally run English news outlet working directly with Japanese studios and filmmakers. So, in 2006, we brought together a talented group of published authors and reporters, film historians, reviewers, festival organizers, and movie makers with ties to the Japanese film industry to launch SciFi Japan (More information on our key contributors can be found here). The only English language news site press registered with all of the major Japanese studios and production companies, SciFi Japan is able to consistently bring accurate and exclusive information on Japanese films and shows to English speaking/reading fans worldwide.

    This site also receives updates from licensees and distributors of Japanese movies in North America, the UK and Australia, and we’re press registered with the major American studios as well. So, while our primary focus remains Japanese llive action and anime news we will rinclude international productions in our "International SciFii" and. "Asian Cinema" sections.

    And in 2012, we launched SciFi JAPAN TV, a web series featuring coverage of tokusatsu events and interviews with Japanese filmmakers. Each episode was shot on location in Japan exclusively for SciFi Japan by the Gaijin Channel production team.
