SciFi Japan is pleased to present our first promotion with Section23 Films and Sentai Filmworks; and we`re kicking things off with a MARDOCK SCRAMBLE: THE FIRST COMPRESSION DIRECTOR`S CUT Blu-ray giveaway! Based on the novels written by Tow Ubukata (Le Chevalier D`Eon) and illustrated by Katsuya Terada (BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE, GODZILLA: FINAL WARS), the MARDOCK SCRAMBLE anime trilogy began with MARDOCK SCRAMBLE: THE FIRST COMPRESSION (????????????? ??, Maroudukku Sukuranburu: Asshuku) in 2010, followed by MARDOCK SCRAMBLE: THE SECOND COMBUSTION (????????????? ??, Maroudukku Sukuranburu: Nenshou) in 2011. The final film, MARDOCK SCRAMBLE: THE THIRD EXHAUST (????????????? ?3? ??, Maroudukku Sukuranburu: Dai 3 bu Haiki) is scheduled for release in Japan in the fall of 2012. Tow Ubukata penned the screenplays for the films, which are directed by Susumu Kudo (SAKURA WARS 2, the unfinished t.A.T.u. PARAGATE) and produced by Aniplex (GURREN LAGANN, RUROUNI KENSHIN, BLUE EXORCIST). On March 13th, MARDOCK SCRAMBLE: THE FIRST COMPRESSION is being released on DVD and Blu-ray with a new, special edition director`s cut featuring five minutes of extended scenes and new footage that deepens the mystery of this hit anime, providing even more insight into the dark psyche of the cyborg assassin and her dangerous assignment! To stop the unstoppable you need the irresistible. To kill the un-killable, you need someone for whom death no longer has a meaning. And to catch the perfect serial killer, you need the one person who knows his methods the best... his last victim. Murdered and now reborn, the female cyborg named Balot exists for only one reason: to track down the man who killed her and bring him to justice.
