On July 23rd, the Australian label Madman Entertainment will release 009-1 CYBORG: THE END OF THE BEGINNING (?????????????, Riaru Kanzen Naru Kubinagaryu no Hi, 2013) on Region 4 DVD. This live-action adaptation of the anime 009 CYBORG is based on the classic spy heroine manga serialized in Shonen Jump from 1964 - 1981 by Shotaro Ishinomori, creator of the famous Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series. Starring actress/model Mayuko Iwasa and directed by Koichi Sakamoto (MEGA MONSTER BATTLE ULTRA GALAXY: THE MOVIE, Kamen Rider movies) 009-1 CYBORG: THE END OF THE BEGINNING marks the 75th anniversary of Ishinomori`s birth. She is the future of espionage... In the near future, the world becomes divided between the Western and Eastern blocks. Mylene is a cyborg spy, Agent 009-1, from the Western block. She sneaks into J country, which is a border area between the two areas and carries out an operation to expose human traffickers. Her next mission is to rescue Dr. Klein, the key scientist of the Western Bloc`s super-soldier Faust Project, which uses the same cyborg technology that created 009-1. But in executing her mission, Mylene uncovers a secret plan that will affect the fate of the entire world.
