A SCIFI JAPAN EXCLUSIVE

Toho Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with press notes and high-res images from SHINKALION THE MOVIE (??????????? ?????? ?????????????-??, Gekij?-ban Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkarion Mirai kara Kita Shinsoku no ALFA-X), the first theatrical film from the popular television series SHINKANSEN HENKEI ROBO SHINKALION: THE ANIMATION (??????? ??????, 2018-19). In the SHINKALION anime series, the Ultra Evolution Institute has developed the superhero robot, the Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion, in an effort to save Japan from a threatening and monstrous entity. The Shinkalion transformer can only be piloted by children with a high degree of compatibility, but they are able to vanquish their giant enemy. The movie picks up from the end of the TV series, as an unidentified enemy appears in Hokkaido and a new battle begins for Team Shinkalion. It features JR East Japan’s prototype bullet train ALFA-X, the most advanced model to date, which will transform onscreen into the new Shinkalion. The story will introduce new characters and answer such questions as “How did the ALFA-X became Shinkalion?” and “Who’s the new kid?” SHINKALION THE MOVIE is directed by SHINKALION TV series veteran Takahiro Ikezoe (SHOW BY ROCK!!) from a screenplay by Kento Shimoyama (KAMEN RIDER ZI-O). The film will open nationwide in Japan on December 27th through Toho`s ODS (Other Digital Stuff) distribution division, Toho Visual Entertainment.

STORY One peaceful winter day in Hokkaido, the new enemies Nahane, Ohanev and a mysterious giant monster arrive from space to conquer the earth! They are confronted by the Shinkalion ALFA-X, which was secretly developed by the Ultra Evolution Institute. The battle between Team Shinkalion and the invaders begins again!! Shinkalion pilot Hayato cannot hide his anxiety because his father, Hokuto, went missing during thesudden enemy attack. He has been replaced by a "9-year-old Hokuto" who came across time and space! The boy version of Hokuto, who had slipped through time in a particles of light, becomes the pilot of the Shinkalion ALFA-X, which brings together the latest technologies to protect the earth. Team Shinkalion unites the the Hokkaido branch, Yamagata branch, Omiya branch, Nagoya branch, Kyoto branch and Moji branch to confront the strongest enemy in the universe! Can Team Shinkalion protect Japan`s peace and security? Can Hayato reunite with his father?
