Crunchyroll, the ultimate home for anime worldwide, has revealed that Katsuhiro Otomo's 1998 cult classic cyberpunk anime film AKIRA アキラ) will be available in SteelBook on 4K UHD for the first time on March 4, 2025. This special release will include many great special features, including “AKIRA Sound Making 2019,” “AKIRA Sound Clip by Geinoh Yamashirogumi,” “Storyboard Collection,” and more.
Story
Clandestine army activities threaten the war torn city of Neo-Tokyo when a mysterious being with powerful psychic abilities escapes his prison and inadvertently draws a violent motorcycle gang into a heinous web of experimentation. As a result, a biker with a twisted mind embarks on a path of war, seeking revenge against a society what once called him weak.
