Distributor Shochiku Co. has released information and images for the anime feature, NEW INITIAL D THE MOVIE LEGEND 2 -BATTLE RUN- (????????D?Legend2-??-, Shin Gekijoo-ban Inisharu Dii Legend 2 -Toso-). The film will open in Japanese theaters on May 23, 2015. NEW INITIAL D THE MOVIE LEGEND 2 is the second chapter of a film trilogy, updating the story of Shuichi Shigeno`s Initial D (???D, Inisharu Dii) manga that has sold 48.6 million copies. The first film, NEW INITIAL D THE MOVIE LEGEND 1 -AWAKENING- (????????D?Legend1-??-, Shin Gekijoo-ban Inisharu Dii Legend 1 -Kakusei-), was released this past August 23rd. In INITIAL D, high school student Takumi Fujiwara is a gas station attendant by day and a delivery boy for his father’s tofu shop by night. But little does he know his precise driving skills and his father’s modified Toyota Sprinter AE86 Trueno will soon pit him against Gunma prefecture’s best racing groups.
