Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and promotional art for their upcoming television series, ULTRAMAN CHRONICLE Z: HEROES’ ODYSSEY (ウルトラマン クロニクルＺ　ヒーローズオデッセイ, Urutoraman Kuronikuru Z Hīrōzu Odessei), which will air on Saturday mornings in Japan on TV Tokyo Network channels starting January 9, 2021. The show will follow the format of the previous “Chronicle” series ULTRAMAN ZERO THE CHRONICLE (ウルトラマンゼロ ザ クロニクル, Urutoraman Zero Za Kuronikuru, 2017), ULTRAMAN ORB THE CHRONICLE (ウルトラマンオーブ ザ クロニクル, Urutoraman Oobu Za Kuronikuru, 2018), ULTRAMAN NEW GENERATION CHRONICLE (ウルトラマン ニュージェネレーションクロニクル, Urutoraman Nyuu Jenereeshon Kuronikuru, 2019) and ULTRAMAN CHRONICLE ZERO & GEED (ウルトラマン クロニクル ZERO&GEED [ゼロ アンド ジード], Ramanujan Kuronikuru ZERO & GEED [Zero Ando Jīdo], 2020), by using footage from previous shows and movies, mixed with new content.

Premiering in 1996, ULTRAMAN TIGA (ウルトラマンティガ, Urutoraman Tiga) became a monument of the “Heisei Ultraman Series” and will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year. The show is still immensely popular to this day and is lovingly called by the name “TDG” together with its following series, ULTRAMAN DYNA (ウルトラマンダイナ, Urutoraman Daina, 1997-98) and ULTRAMAN GAIA (ウルトラマンガイア, Urutoraman Gaia, 1998-99). It continues to shine as the foundation of the current Ultraman series.

In addition, the TV series ULTRAMAN Z (ZETT) 『ウルトラマンＺ(ゼット), Urutoraman Z (Zetto)』, which has been on the air since June 20 of this year, has also become very popular. The children of the “TDG” generation have become parents, and with their children welcomed as new fans, two generations are enjoying the show generations.

By featuring the series ULTRAMAN TIGA and ULTRAMAN Z representing the Heisei and Reiwa eras, the upcoming ULTRAMAN CHRONICLE Z: HEROES’ ODYSSEY will deliver the heroic stories of these giants of light from a new perspective.

Connecting the different world views of ULTRAMAN TIGA and ULTRAMAN Z is Ultraman Zero (voiced by Mamoru Miyano) , a hero who can travel back and forth between parallel universes. Zero, the son of Ultraseven, disciple of Ultraman Leo, and recently the master of Z, will connect the tales of adventure of many different Ultra Heroes.

Born June 8, 1983 in Saitama Prefecture, Mamoru Miyano has provided the voice for Ultraman Zero since the character’s introduction in MEGA MONSTER BATTLE ULTRA GALAXY: THE MOVIE (大怪獣バトル ウルトラ銀河伝説 THE MOVIE, Daikaijū Batoru Urutora Ginga Densetsu THE MOVIE, 2009).

His anime voice credits include DEATH NOTE (デスノート, Desu Nōto, 2006-07), MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM 00 (機動戦士ガンダム00, Kidō Senshi Gandamu Daburu Ō, 2007-09), UTA NO PRINCE SAMA MAJI LOVE (うたの☆プリンスさまっ♪ マジLOVE, Uta no ☆Purinsu-sama♪ Maji LOVE). He is also the voice of Newt Scamander in the Japanese dubs of the FANTASTIC BEASTS films.
