THE MOVIE (????????????, Gekijooban Aikatsu Sutaazu!). Based on the enormously successful Bandai Data Carddass collectible card arcade game, the movie is produced by Bandai Namco Pictures, the new family/children`s division of the Sunrise animation studio. Toei will distribute the film in Japanese cinemas starting August 13th. AIKATSU STARS! THE MOVIE features the new Aikatsu (Idol Activities) characters from in the currently running AIKATSU STARS! (?????????, Aikatsu Sutaazu!) television series. The lead is Yume Nijino, a first year student at Four Stars Academy who wants to become a member of S4, the school`s top singing, dancing and acting idols. In the film, Yume and her classmates travel to the South Seas on a quest for a legendary dress rumored to be hidden on an island there. AIKATSU STARS! THE MOVIE will be paired with a new short film, AIKATSU! ?AIM FOR THE MAGIC AIKATSU! CARD? (???????????????????????, Aikatsu! ~Nerawa Reta Maho no Aikatsu! Kaado~). The co-feature focuses on the heroines of the previous AIKATSU shows and movies -- Akari Ozora, Sumire Hikami, Hinaki Shinjo and Ichigo Hoshimiya. 25 idols take the stage for a musical finale.
