AM² Announces Anime Screenings at this Year`s Event

Marketing, Publicity & Promotions press release Official Site: am2con.org Special Thanks to Chase Wang This summer`s most anticipated anime, manga and music event, AM², is proud to announce its slate of anime titles that will be screened at the event this June 15-17, 2012 held at the Anaheim Convention Center and Hilton in sunny southern California. Ranging from comedies, romance, horror, sci-fi and much more and are some of the most revered and watched titles from this year`s slate of animation fresh from Japan. All screenings will be shown in high definition. More info and attendee registration can be found at am2con.org. Screening titles include: INU x BOKU SECRET SERVICE (??×?SS, Inu Boku Shiikuretto Saabisu, 2012) (comedy, drama, romance, supernatural) Protected by the highest security, the Maison de Ayakashi is rumored to be haunted, where only eccentrics could live. In reality, it is a place for humans with non-human ancestors to live. The socially-inept Ririchiyo has come here to improve herself. She meets secret service bodyguard Soushi, who is assigned to protect residents. He has a request of her: "Please make me your dog." HUNTER x HHUNTER (????×????, Hantaa X Hantaa, 2011) (adventure, comedy, drama, fantasy, tournament) Twelve-year-old Gon Freecss one day discovers that the father he had always been told was dead was alive and well. His Father, Ging, is a Hunter -- a member of society`s elite with a license to go anywhere or do almost anything. Gon, determined to follow in his father`s footsteps, decides to take the Hunter Examination and eventually find his father to prove himself as a Hunter in his own right. But on the way, he learns that there is more to becoming a Hunter than previously thought, and the challenges that he must face are considered the toughest in the world. CHIHAYAFURU (?????, 2011) (comedy, drama) Chihaya Ayase is a frank and ebullient girl who becomes fascinated by the obscure world of competitive karuta, a card game based on Japanese poetry. Introduced to the aggressive style of the game by a quiet and thoughtful elementary school classmate named Arata Wataya, the two quickly become close friends. They start playing as a group with Taichi Mashima, Chihaya`s smart and athletic childhood friend, until they have to part ways during their middle school years due to several circumstances. As their high school life begins, they meet once again. POYO POYO (????????, Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki, 2012) (comedy, slice of life) Moe Sato is a young lady who finds a cat and starts taking care of him. Named Poyo due to his round shape, he quickly becomes a dear member of the Sato family. SPACE BROTHERS (????, Uchuu Kyoodia, 2011) (shonen, action-adventure, drama) When they were young, the brothers Mutta and Hibito promised each other they would become astronauts. Now, in 2025, Hibito has followed his dream to become the first Japanese on the moon, but Mutta has just been fired from his job. His brother reminds him of their childhood promise, and Mutta decides once again to aim for space. USAGI DROP (???????, Usagi Doroppu, 2011) (comedy, drama) Going home from his grandfather`s funeral, thirty-year-old Daikichi is floored to discover that the old man had an illegitimate child with a younger lover. The rest of his family is equally shocked and embarrassed by this surprise development, and not one of them wants anything to do with the silent little girl, Rin Kaga. In a fit of anger, Daikichi decides to take her in himself. As Daikichi nurtures Rin, he started to understand the struggle while at the same time the joy of parenting. SEKAI ICHI HATSUKOI - WORLD`S GREATEST FIRST LOVE (????? ?????????, Sekai`ichi Hatsukoi: Onodera Ritsu no Ba`ai, 2011) (YAOI; comedy, romance) Because Ritsu Onodera hates to rely on family connections he quits a job as a literature editor at his parents` company, Onodera Publishing, and winds up taking a job at Marukawa Books. To his chagrin, he is assigned to the sh?jo manga department in spite of having no interest or experience in it. And on top of that, he has an awful first impression of his high-handed editor-in-chief, Masamune Takano. What comes after is a story of first love full of tears and laughter. PRETTY CURE (?????, Purikyua) (adventure, comedy, magic) Nagisa Misumi and Honoka Yukishiro couldn`t be more different. Nagisa is sporty and Honoka bookish, and while they attend the same school, they have very little in common -- until one day, a shower of shooting stars brings two very unlikely visitors into their lives: Mippuru and Meppuru, refugees from the Garden of Light, which has been conquered by Darkness. Endowed with new and startling powers, Nagisa and Honoka become Cure Black and Cure White, magical defenders of the light -- together, they are Pretty Cure. PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA (???????????, Maho Shojo Madoka Magika, 2011) (PG-13; adventure, horror, psychological, science fiction) After experiencing a bizarre dream, Madoka Kaname, a kind 14-year-old girl, encounters a magical creature named Kyube. Madoka and her friend Sayaka Miki are offered the opportunity of gaining magical powers if they agree to make a contract with the strange little being. He will also grant them one wish, but in exchange they shall risk their lives by accepting the responsibility of fighting witches. Invisible to human eyes, witches are catalysts of despair in the areas they inhabit. An ally of Kyube, a magical girl named Mami Tomoe, befriends and encourages the two girls to accept the contract. For an unknown reason, another magical girl named Homura Akemi is determined to prevent Madoka from accepting the deal. NEO ANGELIQUE ABYSS (????????? Abyss, 2008) (action, fantasy, romance) Arcadia is plagued with evil, life-draining demons called Thanatos and a vast lack of Purifiers to exterminate them all. While attending school, Angelique attracts the eye of a man who intends to turn the tides to the people`s favor. What lies within her is the key to Arcadia`s survival. OREIMO (????????????????, Ore no Imooto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai, 2010) (comedy, slice of life) Living on the shadow of his prodigious younger sister, Kyousuke Kosaka conducts a normal lifestyle until he accidentally finds out that she hides a secret. In addition to being smart, pretty, and popular; Kirino Kosaka is also an obsessive consumer of anime and eroge (adult computer games). After being assured that Kyousuke is committed to not mock her and keep this concealed from their parents, she starts to share a bit of her world with him. Kirino faces several problems as she tries to keep the appearances and balance her exemplar school life with her hobbies. Her brother then becomes a crucial ally while dealing with all the difficulties that lie ahead. PEEPING LIFE (comedy, CG anime) PEEPING LIFE presents hilarious shorts of animated rotoscoped skits by popular Japanese comic-duos. The PEEPING LIFE series is currently airing on Japanese TV and Cruchyroll to rest of the world. ANOTHER (????, Anazaa, 2012) (horror, mystery, psychological, supernatural) When Kouichi Sasakibara transfers to his new school, he can sense something frightening in the atmosphere of his new class, a secret none of them will talk about. At the center is the beautiful girl Mei Misaki. Kouichi is immediately drawn to her mysterious aura, but then he begins to realize that no one else in the class is aware of her presence. FATE/ZERO (????/??, Feito/Zero, 2012) (action, fantasy) Taking place 10 years before the events of FATE/ZERO NIGHT, this series chronicles the events of the Fourth Holy Grail War. NISEMONOGATARI (???, 2012) (comedy, psychological, supernatural) In BAKEMONOGATARI, the story centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third-year high school student who has recently survived a vampire attack, and finds himself mixed up with all kinds of apparitions: gods, ghosts, myths, and spirits. However, in NISEMONOGATARI, we pick up right where we left off and follow Koyomi as the psychological twists delve deeper and deeper... BLACK JACK (?????????, Burakku Jakku) (action-adventure, comedy, love polygon, shounen) Black Jack is an "unregistered" doctor with a clouded, mysterious past. He works with his little assistant Pinoko (who has a massive crush on the doctor), dealing with medical cases not very well known, which can be strange, dangerous, or not known at all. But he is a genius, and can save almost any of his patients` life (as long as they have the money for it, that is), and is known to many around the world, especially to those of medicine and science. He`s a man of science himself, and does not believe much until he has seen it, yet it is many times he is surprised by love and nature often overpowering the science he bases his life in. GIANT KILLING (??????????, Jaiantokiringu, 2010) (slice of life, tournament) Experiencing a long streak of poor performances for several years in the Japanese professional football league, the East Tokyo United (ETU) hires Takeshi Tatsumi as manager to try to break the curse that seems to have fallen over the team. Will he be successful in turning the team around? HANASAKU IROHA (??????, 2011) (comedy, drama, romance) HANASAKU IROHA centers around 16-year-old Ohana Matsumae who moves from Tokyo to out in the country to live with her grandmother at an onsen ryokan named Kissuis?. While restarting her life there initially seems daunting, Ohana begins working at the inn, makes friends with the other employees and watches her life take an unexpected twist. HAYATE NO GOTOKU! (???????!, 2011) (action, comedy, romance, slice of life) It has been three months since Hayate was abandoned by his parents and started work at the Sanzenin Manor as a butler to pay off his parents debt. However, being the butler for the otaku-crazed lady of the house, Nagi Sanzenin, is a hard task, not made easier by the friends and enemies of the Sanzenin, of which Hayate always ends up in the middle of the problem. And his life may get even harder when Student Council President Hinagiku Katsura begins to realise her own feelings for the debt ridden butler. PARASITE DOLLS (?????????, Parasaito Dooruzu, 2003) (action, science fiction) A secret unit of the AD Police, known as Branch, specializes in crimes involving humanoid robots called "Boomers". Branch officer Buzz must cope with having a Boomer for a partner, while officer Michaelson finds the line between human and robot to be a thin one. Together they serve to protect a world that is slowly deconstructing around them. Set in the BUBBLEGUM CRISIS universe. OTOME YOKAI ZAKURO (????? ???, 2010) (action, comedy, romance) In an alternate history of the Meiji era where humans and magical beings known as "yonin" live side by side, half-yonin girls team up with army lieutenants to fight yonin wrongdoers. SUPER ROBOT WARS OG THE INSPECTOR (??????????OG ?????????, Suupaa Robotto Taisen OOjii Jii Insupektaa, 2010) (action, science fiction) Half a year has gone by since the end of the L5 Campaign and the war with the alien species known as the Aerogators, meanwhile remnants of the military faction called DC are still at large. The President of the world government reveals the presence of aliens and vows to take measure to ensure Earth is well prepared for another invasion. As the story unfolds many new factions come to the forefront aiming to take leadership, along with new emerging alien threats. Only the teams of the Hagane and Hiryuu Kai can hope to solve this crisis. THE MYSTIC ARCHIVES OF DANTALIAN (?????????, Dantarian no Shoka, 2011) (adventure, fantasy) Hugh Anthony Disward inherits an old mansion and a personal library from his grandfather. In the basement of the mansion, he meets a mysterious girl--Dalian. She is a Dantalian and a gateway to "Dantalian`s bookshelf", which stores the prohibited books of the demons.
