    ANOHANA THE MOVIE: THE FLOWER WE SAW THAT DAY North American Theatrical Release Update

The film will premiere on January 18, 2014 in select U.S. theaters and on February 9, 2014 in select theaters in Canada. Aniplex of America has also announced that ANOHANA Producer, Hiroyuki Shimizu, will be coming to Los Angeles for a special appearance. Ticketholders have the opportunity to receive exclusive promotional items when they attend the screening. One of these items is the “Letters from Menma” featuring a replica of the letters written by “Menma” in the movie. This set also includes some flower seeds the viewer can plant. Along with the “Letters from Menma” set, ticketholders can also receive the ANOHANA THE MOVIE: THE FLOWER WE SAW THAT DAY poster. These promotional items will be available in limited quantity and will be available only while supplies last. Attendees should contact the theaters directly for details on the distribution of these promotional items. ANOHANA THE MOVIE is an adaptation of the anime series with the same title. It depicts a tale of 5 childhood friends who have drifted apart from one another following the death of their mutual friend, Meiko “Menma” Honma. Are your “friends” from back then, still your “friends” now? This is a story of one summer miracle. Due to a tragic accident during their childhood that took the life of one of their friends, 5 friends grew apart from one another. One summer day “Menma,” their friend who passed away, appears before them. She tells them that she must have a wish granted in order to pass on to the afterlife. But, she cannot remember what that wish is. The friends meet once more to figure out how to help “Menma.” Time that stood still begins to slowly move once more... why did “Menma” come back? ANOHANA THE MOVIE: THE FLOWER WE SAW THAT DAY will be distributed by ELEVEN ARTS and will be featured in the original Japanese audio with English subtitles.
