Toho has provided information and high-res images from their upcoming anime film, DETECTIVE CONAN: THE CRIMSON LOVE LETTER (?????? ????????????????????, Meitantei Konan Kara Kurenai no Renka (Kara Kurenai Nora Buretaa)). The movie is the 21st feature film based on the manga series by Aoyama Gosho, which follow the adventures of teenager Shinichi Kudo, a master detective who was transformed into a young boy after being poisoned by members of the criminal Black Organization. Kudo realized his new appearance was the perfect cover and adopted the name `Conan Edogawa` in order to continue using his skills against evildoers. Opening in Japan this Saturday, April 15th, THE CRIMSON LOVE LETTER is set in Osaka and Kyoto. Conan Edogawa investigates a bombing, with the case having a surprising impact on the relationship between his friends Heiji Hattori and Kazuha Toyama. The film also marks the animation debut of Momiji Ooka, an important character in Aoyama Gosho`s manga.
STORY A bombing occurs during a live broadcast of the Satsuki Cup in Osaka. The panicked attendees rush to evacuate the collapsing, burning building, but two are trapped and left behind... Heiji Hattori and Kazuha Toyama. Fortunately, they are safely rescued by Conan Edogawa, who rushed to the scene after learning of the explosion. The incident seems almost like a terrorist attack, but the true motives of the bomber are unknown. Conan and Heiji begin an investigation to uncover the identity of the criminal who has not yet revealed himself. In the midst of the search, Conan meets a young woman who insists that she is Heiji`s fiancée. Her name is Momiji Ooka, a high school champion of the popular competitive card game, karuta. Meanwhile, the winner of last year`s Satsuki Cup is found murdered at their home in Kyoto. Security footage reveals Momiji was at the crime scene. Osaka and Kyoto, Heiji and Momiji. Two incidents that will forever alter two destinies... "Songs of love from long ago".
