The twenty-six episode series focuses on a group of children who pilot the titular Fafners in a war against the Festum— giant aliens who destroyed much of the world. The movie FAFNER: DEAD AGGRESSOR: HEAVEN AND EARTH (????????Dead Aggressor HEAVEN AND EARTH, Sookyuu no Fafunaa: Dead Aggressor: Heaven and Earth, 2010) takes place two years after the end of the original series.
