Created and directed by Junichi Sato (SAILOR MOON, SGT. FROG), the anime franchise TAMAYURA (????) debuted with a four-part OVA series in November 2010. The story continued in the television series TAMAYURA: HITOTOSE (?????hitotose?, 2011) and TAMAYURA: MORE AGGRESSIVE (?????????????, Tamayura: Mo Aguresshibu, 2013) and now comes to the big screen in the four-part film series, TAMAYURA ?GRADUATION PHOTO? (??????????, Tamayura ?Sotsugyoo Shashin?). TAMAYURA follows Fu Sawatari, a teenage girl who returns to her hometown of Takehara, Hiroshima, located near the Seto Inland Sea, for her first year of high school. Using a Rollei 35S camera that once belonged to her late father, Fu forms a photography club with three close friends, Kaoru Hanawa, Maon Sakurada and Norie Okazaki. They are later joined by another student, Kanae Mitani. The TAMAYURA ?GRADUATION PHOTO? films detail the events of Fu`s senior year. Story The first film, TAMAYURA ?GRADUATION PHOTO? PART 1: BUD -SIGNS-, is set in the spring. Kanae has graduated from high school, and Fu, Kaoru, Maon and Norie are now seniors. Two underclassmen, freshman Takumi Shindo and sophomore Suzune Maekawa, join the photography club. While life has not changed much for the girls, the approaching graduation has spurred ever-increasing feelings about their future, their dreams, and finding careers of their own. Fu also hears rumors that photographer Riho Shihomi, her inspiration and mentor, may be moving to Tokyo...
