In late 2011, the anime studio Sunrise Inc. announced production of two theatrical feature films based on their hit television series TIGER & BUNNY (????????). The first movie -- TIGER & BUNNY -THE BEGINNING- (??? ???????? -The Beginning-, Gekijoo-ban Taigaa Ando Banii -The Beginning) -- combined new content with material from the show to provide a new backstory to the adventures of the superheroes Wild Tiger and Barnaby Brooks Jr. Distributor Shochiku Co., Ltd. released TIGER & BUNNY -THE BEGINNING- to Japanese theaters on September 22, 2012. One week later, the film made it`s North American debut, courtesy of VIZ Media. The second film -- TIGER & BUNNY -THE RISING- (??? ???????? -The Rising-, Gekijoo-ban Taigaa Ando Banii -The Rising-) -- is scheduled for release in Japan in Autumn 2013 (exact date: tba). The creative team behind TIGER & BUNNY -THE BEGINNING- have reunited for an all-new story in which the heroes face the greatest crisis ever to strike Stern Bild, the city they have sworn to protect.
