    Notable International Opener:

    RUROUNI KENSHIN: THE FINAL generated an estimated ¥404.4m ($3.7m) on 480 screens and ranking #2 behind DETECTIVE CONAN: THE SCARLET BULLET.  The cume to date in the market is now ¥1.6b ($14.5m).

    ■ Notable International/Global Performers:

    Now in its fourth international weekend, Warner Bros.’ MORTAL KOMBAT took in an estimated $3.0M from in 40 international markets in release, bringing the running overseas cume to $32.8M and the global total to $66.887M. 

    Warner Bros.’ GODZILLA VS. KONG came in at an estimated $2.7M for the weekend in 42 markets in release.  The international running cume is $325.1M and the worldwide total now stands at $415.4M. 

    Sony’s THE UNHOLY took in $2.1M this weekend in 14 territories for an international cume of $7.9M. Central America launched a strong #1 with $525K, which is Sony’s biggest horror opening of all-time in the market (+8% v. Insidious: The Last Key). Mexico went up 8% in its sophomore session to gross $1.2M, retaining the #1 spot for a local cume of $3.2M. 

    Universal’s NOBODY now in its sixth weekend internationally earned $1.299M in 20 territories for an international cume to date of $18.199M.Combined with the N. Am. weekend of $1.26M, the global weekend took in $2.559M for a running global cume of $41.567M. 

    Sony’s MAN IN LOVE, a local language remake of the 2014 South Korean romantic drama, held #1 spot for the fourth consecutive week in Taiwan, taking in $1.0 million in its 5th frame for a cume of $13.3 million. The pic now ranks as Taiwan’s 6th highest grossing local language release of all time. 

    Sony’s PETER RABBIT 2: THE RUNAWAY added $700K this weekend for an international cume of $17.4M from 447 screens in Australia ($14.9M cume) and New Zealand ($2.5M cume). 

    ■ IMAX Highlights (courtesy of IMAX):

    Local Chinese titles CLIFF WALKERS and HOME SWEET HOME lead the way to $5.1M of global IMAX results.

    New debuts in China for China Film’s CLIFF WALKERS and New Classics’ HOME SWEET HOME share the IMAX network generating $3.3M of IMAX box office.  

    CLIFF WALKERS won the weekend with $2.3M of the total with HOME SWEET HOME earing $1.0M.
