    DEAD SUSHI Now on Australian DVD

    Noboru Iguchi, the director of THE MACHINE GIRL, KARATE-ROBO ZABORGAR and ROBOGEISHA, serves up his funniest film yet with DEAD SUSHI (?????, Detdo Sushi, 2012). The movie is now available on Region 4 DVD from the Australian label Madman Entertainment. DEAD SUSHI stars karate black belt and pro wrestler Rina Ikeda (HIGH-KICK GIRL), bringing her martial arts skills to this film to kick sushi zombie butt. Keiko (Rina Ikeda), the daughter of a legendary sushi chef, runs away from home finding work at a rural hot springs inn. She is ridiculed by the staff and guests, including the corporate employees staying there on retreat. Little do they know that a disgruntled former researcher has also come to the inn with a plan for revenge, using a serum he developed that makes ordinary sushi deadly, turning those who dine into bloodthirsty monsters. DEAD SUSHI won four People`s Choice awards at the 2012 Toronto After Dark Film Festival, while lead Actress Rina Takeda won "Best Comedy Actress" at the 2012 Fantastic Film Festival in Austin, Texas. The film was also the feature promo and played at the 2012 "Monster Fest" Film Festival in Melbourne, Australia.
