On April 15th, SHIELD OF STRAW (???, Wara no Tate, 2013) will be released on Region 4 DVD from the Australian label, Madman Entertainment. Based on the novel of the same name by Kazuhiro Kiuchi, the film was directed by prolific cult filmmaker, Takashi Miike (ICHI THE KILLER, ACE ATTORNEY) and stars Takao Osawa (GOEMON, ICHI), Nanako Matsushima (RING, RING 2), Tatsuya Fujiawara (BATTLE ROYALE, DEATH NOTE) and Tsutomu Yamazaki (DEPARTURES, KAGEMUSHA). Billionaire Ninagawa has put a bounty on the head of Kiyomaru (Tatsuya Fujiwara), the man who savagely murdered his young granddaughter. Fearing for his life, Kiyomaru comes out of hiding and turns himself in.
