Madman proudly presents the year’s most talked about action film, THE RAID (Serbuan maut, 2012), coming to DVD ($34.95srp), Blu-Ray ($39.95srp) and digital platforms, 15th August, 2012. Deep in the heart of Jakarta`s slums, there is an unremarkable rundown apartment block that has captured the attention of the police. The building’s innocuous exterior hides a multi-level safe house and a thriving community made up of the world`s most dangerous killers and gangsters. Up until now, the building has been considered untouchable by even the bravest of law enforcement. Cloaked under the cover of pre-dawn darkness, an elite swat team converges on the safe house with orders to shut it down and arrest the notorious drug lord in charge. But when their cover is blown and news of their assault reaches the man at the top, all the building`s exits are blocked and they become surrounded. Now stranded on the 6th floor with no way out, the unit must fight their way through the city`s worst to survive... Proudly showcasing an unadulterated mix of impossible gunplay, frantic knife fighting and a masterful display of Silat -- the indigenous Indonesian martial art -- courtesy of up and coming action star, Iko Uwais, THE RAID marks a triumphant return to the glorious, over the top action unleashed in the works of seminal Asian cinema filmmakers such as John Woo (THE KILLER, HARD BOILED) and Tsui Hark (IRON MONKEY, ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA). Released to universal acclaim in Australian cinemas in February 2012, THE RAID is the second major Indonesian feature film from Welsh-born director, Gareth Evans, and has already been green lit for a Hollywood remake and a 2013 sequel, entitled BERENDAL. THE RAID features a score by Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. Time Magazine included THE RAID in their "20 Movies To Look Out For In 2012". The movie won the Midnight Madness 2011 Audience Award and was an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival. Evans’ debut Indonesian feature film, MERENTAU -- which also stars Iko Uwais in his first major role -- is available now on DVD ($24.95srp), Blu-Ray ($34.95srp) and digital platforms.
