From August 10-30, the Hashimoto Contemporary served as the site of an art exhibit in honor of the Godzilla series' 70th anniversary, hosted by Spoke Art and Ghost X Ghost along with the support of Toho Studios. Titled "70 years of Godzilla," the exhibit contains officially licensed art pieces from 40 artists with a variety of different styles presented. Several of the art pieces were created by well-known artists that have previously worked on Godzilla related merchandise.
The opening ceremony was on August 10 and on the day before the opening of the exhibit, the two companies hosted a screening of the original GODZILLA (1954) at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
The art exhibition will gradually release copies of the pieces presented in the exhibit with the last of them being made available on September 19th. Alongside the paintings in the exhibit were several Godzilla toys on display.
The Hashimoto Contemporary is open from 10am to 6pm Tuesday to Saturday and is open to the public for free.
