Rialto Pictures` restored GODZILLA: THE JAPANESE ORIGINAL stomped its way this past week in theaters across the country, grossing a skyscraping $61,817 in week-long runs in Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Boston, Denver, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Santa Fe, as well as at select showings in New York, Los Angeles, Austin, and two dozen other cities. Fans in Dallas will have a rare opportunity this Saturday, May 17, to see Akira Takarada, star of the 1954 movie, in person at the 10:25 show at the Angelika Film Center, where he’ll introduce the movie. The 60th anniversary restoration has now reached a cume of $110,438 and holds over in Chicago, Dallas, Santa Fe and New York, while finally crossing over into Brooklyn! With the new GODZILLA from WB/Legendary already breathing hefty fire of its own, the whole country is now under a giant monsters all-out attack!
