Nijigen No Mori Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture, President and CEO: Hiroshige Sadamatsu) is commemorating the 70th anniversary of Japan's iconic film GODZILLA (ゴジラ, Gojira, 1954) by bringing monsters that have appeared in past Godzilla movies to the Luxury Villa "GRAND CHARIOT Big Dipper 135°" (GRAND CHARIOT 北斗七星135°, GRAND CHARIOT Hokutoshichisei 135°) in Northern Awaji Island. Overnight reservations have begun for the Godzilla Collaboration Room "Kaiju Land" (ゴジラコラボルーム『怪獣ランド』, Gojira Korabo Rūmu “Kaijū Rando”), which will open on Friday, December 1st.
"Kaiju Land" is the latest addition to the Nijigen No Mori theme park's popular attraction, "Godzilla Interception Operation" (ゴジラ迎撃作戦 ~国立ゴジラ淡路島研究センター~, Gojira Geigeki Sakusen ~ Kokuritsu Gojira Awajishima Kenkyū Sentā ~), where visitors can enjoy a Godzilla museum, a shooting game and zipline into the open mouth of a life-size 120m long Shin Godzilla figure.
There are 23 GRAND CHARIOT villas located on a small hill in the Awaji Island Park that are the best location to experience the changing of the four seasons with all five senses. At night, guests can take in the glittering cityscape of Kobe on the opposite shore and the star-filled sky over Awaji Island. The best part of the trip is the food, and under the supervision of Chef Haruyuki Yamashita, Hyogo Prefecture's food advisor, GRAND CHARIOT offers creative dishes that can only be enjoyed here, using carefully selected ingredients from Awaji Island. In addition, the hotel has also opened a superb collaboration room themed on popular characters and series such as "Crayon Shin-chan," "Hello Kitty," "Naruto," and "Dragon Quest".
The new "Kaiju Land" room features interior decorations and tapestries depicting successive generations of Godzilla and other popular Toho monsters so that guests can fully immerse themselves in the world of the movies. The room is also decorated with a special treatment that changes the way the light illuminates the area, so that visitors can enjoy different environments during the day and night. Part of the park's full-scale Godzilla can be seen from the room's window, further adding to the experience.
In addition, there are seveal exclusive room-only novelties and accommodation benefits to allow guests to enjoy their stay with family and friends, even if they are not Godzilla fans. Guests will receive admission tickets to "Godzilla Interception Mission," plus limited collectibles such as an acrylic block with a gallery-style design of past Godzilla movie posters and a tote bag that at first galnce has a simple "National Awaji Island Institute of Godzilla Disaster (NIGOD)" design but actually has monsters all over it.
And if guests complete a "special mission" to find all the monsters hidden in their room they will receive a photo frame that is the perfect size for commemorative photos from the "Godzilla Interception Operation" special effects area.
