Bandai Namco Group's official online store Premium Bandai is releasing new figures for the "GODZILLA VINYL ART" art soft vinyl series, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the movie GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH (ゴジラＶＳデストロイア, Gojira VS Desutoroia).

 

■ GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH 30th Anniversary

GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH was released in Japanese theaters on December 9, 1995 with the catchphrase ‘Godzilla Dies.’ The final film in the Heisei Series (1984-95), it is one of the most popular Godzilla movies among fans.

Following this year's “Mechagodzilla 50” and “King Ghidorah 60” campaigns, 2025 will see the 30th anniversary of GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH being promoted as the “Burning Godzilla Year” (バーニングゴジラ・イヤー, Bāningu Gojira Iyā) with a slew of products and events coming throughout the year. A commemorative logo has already been released featuring a burning silhouette of Godzilla.

 

■ The GODZILLA VINYL ART Series

The GODZILLA VINYL ART project presents artists in Japan and around the world creating Godzilla art soft vinyl figures from their own unique perspectives. This series is not only for art toy fans; everyone who loves Godzilla will want to get their hands on these figures.

The initial wave of figures are being designed by "Frog Tree," a group of soft vinyl artists with a unique style based on the theme of “harmony." Their art incorporates traditional Japanese details in modeling and painting, and has attracted the attention of enthusiasts around the world.

The GODZILLA VINYL ART BURNING COLLECTION was created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH, and offers art soft vinyl figures with "burning" designs and vivid red paintwork.  Additional “burning” figures -- including thosed based on other Godzilla movies -- are planned for release in 2025.

Also in the works is the GODZILLA VINYL ART Ukiyo-e Series with figures sculpted in the classical style of Japanese woodblock artwork that gained widespread popularity back in the 1600s.
