GODZILLA Week 10 Box Office Report

Worldwide Box Office Results for Weekend of July 20, 2014 Source: Warner Bros. Entertainment Official Site: Godzillamovie.com This past weekend saw some box office improvement for Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ GODZILLA. After opening in 3,952 theaters on May 16th, the numbers had fallen to a low of 303 locations by the July 11-13 weekend. But this weekend saw a slight expansion to 326 as GODZILLA began the transition from first-run cinemas to secondary and "discount" theaters where it will finish out its run before the Blu-ray and DVD release on September 16th. The uptick in theaters also led to higher ticket sales. GODZILLA earned $515,187 for the July 18-20 weekend, more than double what the film made the previous weekend, and has finally crossed $199 million domestically. With the exception of Japan -- where GODZILLA will open this Friday -- the film is also on the last legs of its international theatrical run. Over the past week the movie took in $735,064 outside the United States, bringing its foreign total to just under $293 million. Based on Japanese box office expectations, GODZILLA should easily pass $300 million internationally and $500 million worldwide by early August. GODZILLA weekend box office estimates (USD), per data collected as of Sunday, July 20, 2014... Weekend BO Estimate Domestic: $515,187 Weekend Release Cume Worldwide: $491,090,849 International: $292,070,870 Domestic: $199,019,979
