Crazy Bump Inc., a company that organizes and manages special exhibitions themed on subcultures such as manga, anime, and special effects, has provided information on the Giant Mechagodzilla POP UP STORE in Gallery of Hakaba (大メカゴジラPOP UP STORE in 墓場の画廊, Dai Mekagojira Poppu Appu Sutoa in Hakaba no Garō) to be held at the Gallery of Hakaba store in Nakano, Tokyo, from January 16 to February 25, 2025.

Among the many monsters that appear in the Godzilla series, the world-famous special effects film masterpieces that are the pride of Japan, the mechanical monster Mechagodzilla reigns as Godzilla's absolute rival.

Since its first appearance in 1974's GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA (ゴジラ対メカゴジラ, Gojira Tai Mekagojira), Mechagodzilla has been an indispensable character in the Godzilla series, boasting overwhelming popularity to this day due to its remarkable appearance as a giant, shiny, steel-colored, full-body mechanical weapon, its overwhelming firepower with its numerous weapons, and its presence as it rises up again and again after being repaired and improved each time it is defeated.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Mechagodzilla's debut, a POP UP STORE will be held at the Gallery of Hakaba in the Nakano Broadway shopping mall. Various Japanese Mechagodzillas, from the original to Super Mechagodzilla and the popular Type-3 Kiryu, will gather in Nakano. 

The venue will run an exhibition featuring the first GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA, TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA (メカゴジラの逆襲, Mekagojira no Gyakushū, 1975), GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA II (ゴジラvsメカゴジラ, Gojira vs. Mekagojira, 1993) GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA (ゴジラ×メカゴジラ, Gojira × Mekagojira, 2002), and GODZILLA: TOKYO SOS (ゴジラ×モスラ×メカゴジラ 東京SOS, Gojira x Mosura x Mekagojira Tōkyō Esu Ō Esu, 2003), with displays of rare props and materials from the productions fo those films.  The exhibition will be split in two parts, with the first half, entitled "Showa Mechagodzilla Promotion Month!" (昭和メカゴジラ強化月間!, Shōwa Mekagojira Kyōka Gekkan!), running from January 16 to February 5. The second half, "Type-3 Kiryu Promotion Month!" (3式機龍強化月間!, 3-Shiki Kiryū Kyōka Gekkan! ) follows from February 6 - February 25.

In addition to the exhibition, official goods such as new apparel and sundries featuring successive generations of Mechagodzilla will be on sale, as well as merchandise featuring other monsters of the Godzilla series. Products will be available at both the Gallery of Hakaba in Nakano and their online store.

The Giant Mechagodzilla POP UP STORE in Gallery of Hakaba will also be selling Mechagodzilla soft vinyl figures by popular manufacturers from Japan and abroad. Crazy Bump will soon be revealing more details on the soft vinyl figures specially planned for the event by Marusan, BULLMARK, M1, U.S.TOYS, MAX TOY, Yasuyuki Kobayashi, Kaiju One (Ichi Kobo), Unbox Industries, NEOPLAYERONE, Momoco Studio, STRANGE GALLERY, Amakuma and Dream Planet Japan.

This is the battle that everyone has been waiting for: an all-out attack by all Mechagodzillas!
