Toho Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and high-res images from SHIMAJIRO THE MOVIE: MIRACLE ISLAND'S RAINBOW CARNATION (映画しまじろう『ミラクルじまのなないろカーネーション』, Eiga Shimajirō Mirakurujima No Nanairo Kānēshon), The 10th entry in the popular Shimajiro film series will utilize CGI animation.

Tomohiro Kawamura returns to direct after previously helming SHIMAJIRO AND URURU’S HEROLAND (しまじろうとうるるのヒーローランド, Shimajirō Tōruru no Hīrōrando, 2019) and SHIMAJIRO AND THE FLYING SHIP (しまじろうとそらとぶふね , Shimajirō to Sora Tobu Fune, 2021), the first movie to be animated in CGI. Satoshi Sugiura is credited with the film’s screenplay. The score is handled by Yuichi “Masa” Nonaka while the theme song is entitled "A Warm Feeling feat. May J.”

The animation is produced by Shanghai Hanyuan Culture Media Co., Ltd., with Benesse Corporation overseeing production as a co-producer. SHIMAJIRO THE MOVIE: MIRACLE ISLAND'S RAINBOW CARNATION will be released in Japanese theaters on March 8, 2024.

SYNOPSIS

“Thank you" is a magic phrase used to remember your loved ones. One day, Shimajiro meets Miller, a young boy from "Miracle Island" who has a mysterious power. That power comes from his rainbow carnation, which is said to make wishes come true if you give it to someone special. However, his flower is stolen by an evil wizard who wants to collect all the carnations of Miracle Island for himself. Will Shimajiro and his friends be able to escape from the evil wizard together with Miller and get back the rainbow carnations?
