Toho has provided information and high-res images from their new anime film, NEW DIMENSION! CRAYON SHIN-CHAN THE MOVIE: GREAT PSYCHOKINETIC BATTLE ~ FLYING HAND-ROLLED SUSHI ~ (しん次元！クレヨンしんちゃんTHE MOVIE 超能力大決戦 ～とべとべ手巻き寿司～, Shin Jigen! Kureyon Shinchan THE MOVIE Chō Nōryoku Daikessen ～ Tobetobe Temakizushi ～ ), opening in Japan on April 4th. The movie is the 31st feature film for the popular TV anime and manga series created by Yoshito Usui, and follows the comedic misadventures of Shinnosuke "Shin-chan" Nohara, a mischievous five-year-old who often says inappropriate things and cannot resist pretty ladies, regardless of their age. Shin-chan`s family includes his baby sister Himawari, their mother Misae who gets hysterical whenever her two kids are misbehaving in public, dad Hiroshi, an average office worker who has smelly feet, and their pet dog Shiro.

The new film is the first 3DCG entry in the series, and features animation is by Shirogumi, the CG studio that previously worked on the award-winning hits SHIN GODZILLA (シン・ゴジラ, Shin Gojira, 2016) and STAND BY ME DORAEMON (STAND BY ME ドラえもん, Sutando Bai Mī Doraemon, 2014). It took seven years to complete, and marks the anime feature debut of director Hitoshi Ōne (LOVE STRIKES!, BAKUMAN).

The movie presents a Shin-chan we've never seen before as the boy becomes an Esper, flies sushi rolls, and saves the world!

 

STORY

Nusutradamus, who lived next door to Nostradamus, left a prophecy.
"In the year when 20 and 23 stand side by side, two lights will fall from heaven. One is a dark light, the other is a small white light...Before long, the dark light will have great power, disrupt peace, and cause chaos in the world."

 

And in the summer of 2023, two lights arrive from space.
A white light hits Shinnosuke, who is waiting impatiently for dinner.
Mysterious power fills his body.
"My butt... my butt is hot..."
When Shinnosuke put his power into the toy, it floated in the air!
This is the moment when Esper Shinnosuke was born

 

Meanwhile, the man who was bathed in black light and became a dark Esper is named Mitsuru Hiriya.
His part-time job is not going well, his idol is getting married, and he is even being chased by the police after being mistaken for a violent criminal.
With his new power, he vows to take revenge on this world.

 

Shinnosuke vs. Hiriya who desires the destruction of the world.
The curtain now opens on a great battle of supernatural powers where "everything is Shin-dimensional!"
This summer, Shinnosuke's light that shines against despair will make your heart and buttocks hot...
