Aniplex of America has just announced that the first two PUELLA MADOKA MAGICA Movies PART 1: -BEGINNINGS- (??? ??????????? ??: ??????, Gekijoo-ban Maho Shojo Madoka Magika Zenpen: Hajimari no Monogatari, 2012) and PART 2: -ETERNAL- (??? ????????????????????, Gekijoo-ban Maho Shojo Madoka Magika Shinpen: Hangyaku no Monogatari, 2012) will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on July 15th. Both films are theatrical adaptations retelling the original MADOKA MAGICA TV series with striking visuals. These movies are a must-own for MADOKA MAGICA fans or anybody who is just experiencing the world of MADOKA MAGICA for the first time. The PUELLA MADOKA MAGICA Movies will be available in a Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo Set which includes both PART 1: -BEGINNINGS- and PART 2: -ETERNAL- on both Blu-ray and DVD format (4 discs total: 2 Blu-ray and 2 DVD discs). The set will also include the theatrical trailers, TV CM Collections and the textless opening and ending. Both movies will include Japanese and English language in surround sound as well as English and Spanish subtitles. Originally airing in Japan in the beginning of 2011, PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA is an original story developed into TV series by Gen Urobuchi (FATE/ZERO and PSYCHO PASS) of Nitroplus, directed by Akiyuki Shimbou (GOODBYE ZETSUBO SENSEI, BAKEMONOGATARI, ARAKAWA UNDER THE BRIDGE) and produced by Aniplex’s Atsuhiro Iwakami (THE GARDEN OF SINNERS, BAKEMONOGATARI, OREIMO, and FATE/ZERO). PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA follows the story of a 14-year-old girl named Madoka Kaname. Madoka is offered the opportunity of gaining magical powers if she agrees to make a contract with a strange little being named Kyubey. Kyubey will also grant Madoka one wish, but in exchange she shall risk her life by accepting the responsibilities of fighting witches.
