First off, to coincide with the DVD/Blu-ray release of Sion Sono`s latest film HIMIZU (???, 2012), Third Window Films is preparing a Blu-ray release of the film which he is most known for, the 4 hour-long epic LOVE EXPOSURE (??????, Ai no Mukidashi, 2009) which was voted as Best Japanese Film of the Decade by Midnight Eye`s readers. The Blu-ray release, planned for August 6th, will featuring a new high definition transfer from the original master, a one-hour long `making of`, nearly one-hour of deleted and extended scenes plus an exclusive new interview with the director. As if that wasn`t big enough news, Third Window is topping that with the Blu-ray releases of TETSUO: THE IRON MAN (?????????, Tetsuo, 1989) and TETSUO 2: BODY HAMMER (?? II????????????, 1992) to coincide with the DVD/Blu-ray release of Shinya Tsukamoto`s latest film KOTOKO (2012) in late September/early October 2012. Considered by many to be one of the biggest cult exports from Japan, Shinya Tsukamoto`s steam-punk classics will be bundled together a as set which will also include his TETSUO-prototype short-film THE ADVENTURES OF ELECTRIC ROD BOY (???????, Denchu Kozou no Boken, 1987). Both TETSUO 1 and 2 will be remastered from their original negatives with Shinya Tsukamoto himself overseeing the restoration process.
