X-Plus June 2013 Update: Painted Godzilla 1975, Spectreman and Ambassador Magma

Last week, SciFi Japan posted information and photos of the giant monster figures scheduled for release by X-Plus Co., Ltd. in late June 2013. X-Plus was still waiting on final approvals for several of the figures so SFJ ran photos of the unpainted prototypes. Toho has now approved the final Godzilla (1975 Version), so X-Plus has provided photos of the fully painted figure. X-Plus has also sent images for two additional figures; the monster-fighting heroes Spectreman and Ambassador Magma. X-Plus` monster figures can be purchased directly from the company`s official Shounen Ric website. Shounen Ric offers Limited Editions of the figures with exclusive features or bonus pieces not available from other retailers. The standard figures are also sold by stores and online retailers including amazon.com, amazon.co.jp and SFJ`s sponsors Anime Jungle and Toy Freakz.

Shounen Ric Limited Edition Includes: Additional "Nebula Slice" Arms, Type-A Mask Price: ¥9,765 (Tax Included) June`s Large Monsters Series selection includes the titular hero from P-Production`s television series, SPECTREMAN (???????, Supekutoruman, 1971-72). An English dubbed version of the show was syndicated in the United States starting in 1978. The new Spectreman figure depicts the character with his Type-B mask, using the same body sculpt as X-Plus` previous release of the character, but with new arms and head. The Shounen Ric website Limited Edition Spectreman (Type-B) comes with a bonus Type-A head plus a pair of extra arms with the Nebula Slice, serrated blades running down the hero`s forearms. Please Note: X-Plus has not yet received final approvals for the painted Spectreman, so the photos included here show the unpainted prototype. Based on the manga by the legendary Osamu Tezuka, the show featured a family of transforming robots who defended the Earth for the evil alien Goa and his monster army. The series was dubbed in English and entitled THE SPACE GIANTS for syndication on American television starting in 1970. Ambassador Magma was renamed `Goldar` for the US release. X-Plus` Real Master Collection: Ambassador Magma is constructed of poly resin and stands on a base for a total height of approximately 24.5cm. The golden hero`s rocket form is also included.
