The Japanese collectibles company X-Plus Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and giant, high-res photos of their Daikaiju Series: King Ghidorah (1964) figure from Toho’s classic GHIDORAH: THE THREE-HEADED MONSTER (???? ???????, San Daikaij? Chiky? Saidai no Kessen, 1964).* This figure will be available in two versions. The standard "General Distribution" features Ghidorah`s traditional golden colors, and will be sold by stores and online retailers, including SFJ sponsor Anime Jungle. X-Plus` Shonen-Ric website, Premium Bandai and Toho’s official Godzilla Store are offering a Limited Edition with an alternate paint scheme based on initial designs for the character. Ghidorah was first envisioned with a blue body and wings of red, white and blue. While this was rejected in favor of the all over gold colorization, the unused concept was featured in some posters and promotional stills for the film. The Limited Edition offers fans and collectors a completely different look from the traditional image of King Ghidorah. The Daikaiju Series: King Ghidorah (1964) is recommended for fans and collectors ages 15 years and older. *This figure reuses part of the sculpt for the Toho Daikaiju Series: King Ghidorah (1968) released in December 2014.
