Special Thanks to Shingo Fujimoto The Japanese collectibles company X-Plus Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and high-res photos of their latest figure of King Kong from the 2017 movie, KONG: SKULL ISLAND. The soft vinyl statue is manufactured by X-Plus` Hong Kong-based subsidiary, Star Ace Toys, Ltd., and features the protector of Skull Island in a defiant roar with arms outstretched wide. This piece is meticulously sculpted to show the rage in his face, all the detail of his hair and the battle scars across his chest. He is painted by hand to bring out all of the incredible nuances of his expression and recreate the realism that makes the figure look alive. There will also be a Deluxe Limited Edition Version which recreates a famous scene from the movie where Kong swings a ship’s propeller on a chain at Skullcrawler. The Kong 2.0 Deluxe Soft Vinyl Statue features a diorama base with the remnants of a ship, and Kong with a chain around his arm and holding ship’s propeller. Both the standard and deluxe versions of the figure will be sold by stores and online retailers including SFJ`s sponsor Anime Jungle. Recommended for fans and collectors ages 15 years and older.
