J-Pop’s #1 idol and Hello! Project singing sensation Erina Mano will be attending and performing at the world premiere screening (and secondary screening) of her break-out feature film role in KAI-KI: TALES OF TERROR FROM TOKYO (?????-??) on July 1, 2010 (World Premiere at noon and 2nd screening at 3:00 pm) at the world famous venue, Club Nokia, in Los Angeles, California. Advance tickets for both events are now available at club2themax.com. KAI-KI: TALES OF TERROR FROM TOKYO is based on the hit Japanese TV franchise TALES OF TERROR FROM TOKYO AND ALL OVER JAPAN (?????*, Shin Mimi-Bukuro). The TALES OF TERROR FROM TOKYO television show is comprised of short minisodes adapting actual Japanese urban legends, collected from across the country by writer Kihara Hirokatsu. The series has featured works done by a number of notable J-Horror directors, including Ryuta Miyake (JU-ON: BLACK GHOST), Takashi Shimizu (JU-ON, THE GRUDGE), and Tsuruta Norio (RING 0: BIRTHDAY). KAI-KI is the third of three TALES OF TERROR FROM TOKYO movies that have been released theatrically in Japan; the first two having been released in 2004 and 2006, respectively. It is comprised of two separate short stories: TSUKIMONO: THE POSSESSED and NOZOMI, both starring Erina Mano. The film was written by Ryuta Miyake and directed by Makoto Shinozaki (TOKYO ISLAND), and features the song "Returning Home" performed by Ms. Mano.

In addition to the screening, the KAI-KI World Premiere event will include a Q&A, fan meet & greet, autograph session, and a live mini-concert with star Erina Mano. Photo courtesy of Japan Film Society. © 2010 BS-i, King Records

In addition, Erina Mano will also be take part in a fan meet & greet and a mini-autograph session for a limited time at the event. “I am so excited to meet my U.S. fans,” she states, “I hope you all can come out and join me!” Also in attendance will be legendary J-Idol producer Andrew Tamon Niwa (the man behind Pocky 4 Sisters, Tokyo Shojo, and Miyazaki Aoi; in addition to Miss Mano) and the acclaimed horror/ghost-folktale aficionado and Tales of Terror author Hirokatsu Kihara, whose work inspired the hit Japanese TV series and now the highly anticipated theatrical release starring Erina Mano. * We`re taking a risk here, as it is considered extremely taboo and unlucky to write out the full name of the TV show. There is an urban legend surrounding the series that due to them "bringing to life" so many spirits from around Japan, the show itself is cursed!
