Crunchyroll, the world’s most popular anime brand, is premiering BEHIND THE SCENES OF DR. STONE, a documentary featuring creative producer Shusuke Katagiri and director Shinya Iino. The documentary premiered on Crunchyroll’s YouTube page on September 13, and will premiere on platform this week. Running a little over 25 minutes, it was shot onsite in Japan, following the pair and their team through the creative process to adapt the hit manga into the anime series. The documentary follows Creative Producer Shusuke Katagiri and Director Shinya Iino as they bring the DR.STONE anime to life. Learn more about the animation process as Katagiri-san and Iino-san give us an insider’s look into how they adapted the manga into the anime from TMS Studio in Tokyo. DR.STONE is based on the hit weekly Shonen Jump manga title of the same name written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. The series is being animated by TMS Studios. The series picks up thousands of years after a cataclysmic event petrifies the world’s population. Following two main characters who free themselves from stone, Senku Ishigami and Taiju ?ki, DR. STONE is a story of science versus might in the quest to rebuild civilization. The Dr. STONE manga has been a smash hit worldwide with more than 480,000 volumes sold since July 2017 in Japan alone. New episodes of “Dr. STONE” premiere every Friday morning on Crunchyroll.
