Joining the show this year will be Michael Schlesinger, the writer/producer/director of Sony’s nationwide theatrical release of GODZILLA 2000. Michael will be there to talk about adapting the film for American audiences and what went into the dubbing, editing and distribution of the movie.

In addition to films and guests, Godzilla Night 5 will also have new and returning Godzilla venders including Vinyl Kaiju Legion, Kevin d’Antonio, Charlie Soto, artist Gaz Gretsky and Kimono My House. Godzilla goods will be overflowing at price points fitting the casual buyer up to the most ardent collector.

Prizes will be available in abundance! Audience members will have the chance to win door prizes. Those wanting to try their luck can also enter a raffle for autographed photos of Hiroshi Koizumi, Kenji Sahara, Haruo Nakajima, Shinichi Wakasa and Tsutomu Kitagawa courtesy of Jim Cirronella of Celebrity Icons.

    Michael Schlesinger

Michael Schlesinger is widely acknowledged as the dean of classic film distributors, having worked for more than 25 years at MGM, Paramount and Sony, keeping hundreds of vintage movies in theatrical release (and later DVD), and instigating the restoration of many more, including the completion of Orson Welles’ 1942 documentary IT’S ALL TRUE some 50 years later. Behind the camera, he wrote and produced the American version of GODZILLA 2000 (1999), co-produced such Larry Blamire parodies as THE LOST SKELETON RETURNS AGAIN (2009) and DARK AND STORMY NIGHT (2009), and has written, produced and directed several short films featuring the faux-1930’s comedy team of Biffle and Shooster. No power on Earth will ever shake his conviction that IT’S A MAD, MAD, MAD,MAD WORLD (1963) is the Greatest. Movie. Ever.
