"Before an atom is an atom, it is a Holon. Before a cell is a cell is a Holon. Before an idea is an idea, it is a Holon."
H010N (Shinzō Ningen Holon) is a new live action Italian/U.S. co-production inspired by classic anime such as Tatsunoko's CASSHAN (新造人間キャシャーン, Shinzō Ningen Kyashān, 1973) and tokusatsu like Toei's Kamen Rider franchise. The movie is produced by Graziano Molteni's Molteni Media Production in collaboration with Nova RolFilm, Inverno Workshop and May Film Studios. The project's media partner is Horror Italia 24.
Inspired by the philosophical essay Janus: a summing up by Arthur Koestler, H010N is the story of a woman who within a strict and disciplined world discovers a crack that undermines the foundations of her every belief: to get to the bottom of the mystery she is forced to question her deepest memories and her own identity, untangling herself in a mad vortex of nightmares formed by blood, metal and death.
H010N is a combination of circuits, katanas and mecha, the elements of drama and mystery mixed with horror, a favorite genre of the director whose first film was ONIRICA (2019), an homage to the Italian giallo works of Dario Argento. His The love for Asian was previously displayed in the Cantonese short film JIAOZI (2020), inspired by the Kung-Fu movies of Shaw Studios. Now Brucculeri has taken full advantage of the opportunity to bring blood, prosthetics and make-up with a retro essence to the screen.
H010N was presented at last year's American Film Market in Los Angeles for worldwide rights sales. “After the great response at the AFM in Los Angeles," said producer Graziano Molteni, "where both sales and distributors as well as insiders were pleasantly surprised after viewing the working copy of the film, I can say that I am very pleased and satisfied with the work we have done, especially by Luca and the whole crew: the anticipation is high and many are asking us to be able to view the completed film for worldwide acquisition.”
The film is set to have it's World Premiere at the Torino Underground Cinefest (September 26-October 5, 2024) and one week later will play at FiPiLi Horror Festival in Tuscany. A worldwide theatrical release is in the works.
A woman wakes up in a room, remembering nothing of her past. All she knows is that she’s in there by choice, and she’s a citizen of the Chinese UK, the capital of the newborn Eurasia. Her entire life is driven by rules to follow and actions to take, but not all political systems are perfect. A whirlwind of nightmarish events will unveil a flaw that births disturbing truths.
