Distributor SRS Cinema has announced the launch of preorders for their Blu-ray and VHS editions of HOSHI 35 (星35, 2023). Written and directed by Hiroto Yokokawa (THE GREAT BUDDHA ARRIVAL, NEZURA 1964), and co-directed by Kazuma Yoneyama and Daisuke Sato, with effects by Sato, the movie uses traditional Japanese FX techniques (aka tokusatsu) in the tradition of the classic Godzilla and Gamera films.
HOSHI 35 has attracted fan attention in both Japan and the United States for its cast, which is made up of a veritable 'who's who' of genre veterans, starting with Godzilla Heisei Series star Megumi Odaka (GODZILLA VS BIOLLANTE to GODZILLA VS DESTOROYAH). The movie, whose title is derived from the Japanese word for "star" (hoshi), is a celebration of Odaka's 35th anniversary as an actress and is her first film role in close to 30 years.

SYNOPSIS
Aki lived her young life with a baby monster, but got separated from it for some reason. Thirty-five years later, a big earthquake hits her home. As the shaking grows stronger, a giant monster emerges… no longer a baby kaiju, the creature has grown…
This release is on professionally burned and labeled BD-R's, and is limited to 200 units. However, if 100 units sell by February 1st, SRS Cinema will expand the release to pressed BDs and 1000 unis. Copies are expected to ship in late May 2025.
