Toho Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and images from #I'llTellYouTheTruth (#真相をお話しします, #Shinsō o Ohanashi Shimasu). The film is based on the popular short story collection of the same name by mystery writer Shinichiro Yuki, which was nominated for the 2023 Booksellers' Awards. It tells the story of everyday people who try to get rich by exposing strange and shocking truths on the "#I'llTellYouTheTruth" live-streaming channel.

The movie is directed by Keisuke Toyoshima (YOKAI HOUSEMATE) and stars Motoki Ohmori from the rock group Mrs. GREEN APPLE - in his feature film debut - and singer Fuma Kikucho of timelesz.

#I'llTellYouTheTruth opens in Japanese cinemas on April 25th.

SYNOPSIS

The live streaming channel "#I'llTellYouTheTruth" offering a huge reward has launched!

Kiriyama (Fuma Kikuchi) is a security guard who is deep in debt. One day, he meets Suzuki (Motoki Ohmori) in the security office of the building where he works. They bond over their shared interest in the viewer-participation live-streaming exposé channel "#I'llTellYouTheTruth". The truth behind all kinds of gossip will be revealed there.

The hidden true faces of celebrities...

The unreported truths behind events that shocked the world...

A chosen speaker will receive tips from the audience in exchange for revealing these truths, making "#I'llTellYouTheTruth" currently the hottest place where a once-in-a-lifetime gamble will be played out.

The audience is excited by the shocking revelations, and large amounts of tips fly in.

As excitement for the channel reaches its zenith, Kiriyama is finally selected and makes a huge profit from tips. However, Suzuki, who Kiriyama thought was his friend, suddenly comes forward as a speaker...
