A television anime adaptation of MY STATUS AS AN ASSASSIN OBVIOUSLY EXCEEDS THE HERO'S (暗殺者である俺のステータスが勇者よりも明らかに強いのだが, Asashin de Aru no Sutētasu ga Yūsha Yori mo Akiraka ni Tsuyoi Nodaga), or "Sutetsuyo" (ステつよ)for short, will air in Japan in October 2025.  The series is based on the light novels and manga of the same name by Matsuri Akai (Overlap Bunko/Comic Gardo), which has a total of over 1.5 million copies in print and electronic circulation as of February 2025.

The director will be Nobuyoshi Habara, known for FAFNER IN THE AZURE (蒼穹のファフナー, Sōkyū no Fafunā, 2015). Series composition will be handled by Kunihiko Okada (YOWAMUSHI PEDAL series), character design by Hirona Okada (GUNDAM BUILD METAVERSE) and Kaori Saito (MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM: THE WITCH FROM MERCURY), music by Satoshi Igarashi of TOKYO LOGIC (DON'T HURT ME, MY HEALER!), monster designs by Masahiro Yamane (THE BRAVE EXPRESS MIGHT GAINE), the main animator is Mitsuru Ishihara (MEGA MAN BATTLE NETWORK), and animation production is by Sunrise.

I've been working in animation for over 40 years, but this was my first experience directing a work about transferring to another world.

At first, I was nervous, but as soon as I started reading the original work, I was immediately drawn into the world, and the scenery came to mind one after another, and I could see Akira, Amelia, and the others coming to life. With Akai-sensei's supervision, we are creating this with excellent staff and a charming cast. Please enjoy it until the end! !

Thanks to all the readers and everyone involved in this work, it has become an anime. Thank you so much! I was surprised when it was made into a book, and when it was made into a comic, and I never thought it would make it to the anime.

My dream when I first created the original work has come true, and I still feel like I'm in a dream! I hope you will enjoy watching Akira and the others struggling to survive in the other world they were suddenly summoned to.

Story

Akira Oda is a very ordinary high school sophomore with a mean look and unsocial personality. He is rarely noticed, has no interest in others, and doesn't remember the names of most of his classmates, but he treasures his family and friends.

One day, Akira's entire class is magically summoned by a king to another world.

While the summoning grants all of his classmates cheat abilities to become heroes in this fantasy world, Akira's natural quietness means that is given the abilities of an ordinary "assassin". But, even though he is supposed to be just an assassin, his status value easily surpasses even the strongest hero.

Using his new abilities, Akira exposes a conspiracy masterminded by the king. Because of this, he is framed for a crime and forced to go on the run.

Vowing to take revenge on the king, he takes refuge in the depths of an unexplored labyrinth filled with monsters. There he finds a weapon used by the first hero, the sword "Yatogami", and rescues an elf girl named Amelia Rose Quartz.

Amelia is from the royal elven family, and a silver-rank adventurer with high combat abilities. She is basically silent and expressionless, but after being saved by Akira, she began to show emotion and a rich range of expressions. Akira also discovers that Amelia is quite a glutton.

This is the story of a boy who has acquired the ability of an assassin, meets an elf girl, and embraces his destiny.

Akira Oda will be played by Takeo Otsuka (who played Aquamarine Hoshino in【OSHI NO KO】(【推しの子】, 2023) Jinshi in THE APOTHECARY DIARIES (薬屋のひとりごと, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, 2023-)," and Tsukasa Akeuraji in MEDALIST (薬屋のひとりごと, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, 2025). The royal elf girl Amelia Rose Quartz will be played by Saku Mizuno, who played Ryo Yamada in BOCCHI THE ROCK! (ぼっち・ざ・ろっく！, Botchi Za Rokku!, 2022), Mashiro Irodori in VTUBER LEGEND: HOW I WENT VIRAL AFTER FORGETTING TO TURN OFF MY STREAM (VTuberなんだが配信切り忘れたら伝説になってた, Buichūbā Nanda ga Haishin Kiriwasuretara Densetsu ni Natteta, 2024) and Liu Shouxue in RAVEN OF THE INNER PALACE (後宮の烏, Kōkyū no Karasu, 2022).

At first, I thought this work would have a pop content based on the title, but it was more than that.

I'm sure that if you watch the first episode, you'll be excited to see how the story unfolds. The anime is also wonderfully structured, so whether you're familiar with the original novels or the manga, or if you're new to it, please look forward to the broadcast.

I've been chosen to play the role of Amelia Rose Quartz. I'm Saku Mizuno!

Amelia is like a cat, and the expressions she only shows to the main character, Akira, are very cute. I hope to be able to deliver Amelia, who becomes more and more adorable as the story progresses, to everyone.

The script is faithful to the original story, the battle scenes are well-crafted, and there are many scenes that make me think, "I can't wait to see this scene...!" I'm honored to be involved in this wonderful work.
