Introduction
Rank...1. To arrange things in order. To line up in order. 2. An order arranged according to a set standard. A set order.
This hierarchy, as described in the Japanese dictionary, is established in schools, companies, organizations, teams, communities, etc., and is called a caste. But who decided that order, with what authority, and based on what criteria? This is a shocking school caste suspense film that will throw a stone into the distorted common sense that everyone has been wondering about!
The 24 students in Class 2-D are played by up-and-coming actors and artists who will be stars in the entertainment world, including Hokuto Yoshino from the band THE RAMPAGE from Exile Tribe, Ryubi Miyase from LOVESICK ELLIE (恋わずらいのエリー , Koi Wazurai No Erī, 2024), Sara Shida from WE DON'T KNOW LOVE YET (恋を知らない僕たちは, Koi wo Shiranai Bokutachi wa, 2024), Akari Takaishi from the BABY ASSASSINS series (2021-24), and Miona Hori, a former member of Nogizaka 46 and known as a horror movie fan. Shugo Oshinari, who has appeared in ALL ABOUT LILY CHOU-CHOU (リリイ・シュシュのすべて, Riri Shushu no Subete , 2001) and other films, also joins in as the teacher. All the cast members play off of their friendly public faces and their dangerous private selves, changing personalities and toying with the audience.
The surreal script written by Osamu Suzuki, who fell in love with the unique concept of the manga, has been adapted into a film by director Tsutomu Hanabusa, who is well-known for his ensemble dramas such as the TOKYO REVENGERS series (2021-23) and KAKEGURUI (2018-21). The pair have teamed up for the first time in 16 years since their collaboration HANDSOME SUIT (ハンサム★スーツ , Hansamu Sutsu, 2008). While interweaving memories, the film mercilessly exposes the beautiful yet horrifying nature of human beings with Hanabusa's characteristic edgy and speedy touch. Audiences won't be able to take their eyes off the screen until the climax, when the shocking and unexpected truth is revealed!

Synopsis
On the morning of the new semester, 24 students and their homeroom teacher from Class 2-D of Kairei Private Academy each receive an email containing a file titled "2-D Ranking." In it, all the students' names are listed along with their rankings from 1st to 25th. If it was just a nasty prank, who decided the class ranking and why? Time passes without the culprit being identified, but six months later, an incident occurs.
Honor student Tsubaki Himeyama, who was ranked 1st among her classmates and was the envy of everyone, commits suicide on campus. Everyone in the class is shaken by this shocking event. Unable to process their feelings, they stop by the classroom after the funeral and find unique suicide notes from Himeyama on each of their desks.
Why are there letters from a dead girl in the classroom? Why did the first-ranked student take her own life in the first place? Did Himeyama really write the suicide notes?
In an atmosphere of suspicion and uncertainty, all 24 students decide to reveal the contents of their own notes to their classmates in order to uncover the truth behind Himeyama's suicide. However, this unusual disclosure of the letters reveals the dark, true faces of all 24 students who have exposed Himeyama's secrets to the public...
