In 2006-2007 Shueisha`s Weekly Young Jump magazine serialized the manga Kamen Teacher (????????, Kamen Tiichaa) by Tohru Fujisawa, creator of the hit GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka (????????????????, Gureeto Tiichaa Onizuka). Kamen Teacher is set in a time when the ban on corporal punishment in schools has caused a rise in juvenile delinquency. To combat this problem the Kamen Teacher Program is established, allowing selected teachers to use special masks that provide the physical power to re-establish order in the classroom. In April 2013, Fujisawa debuted the manga sequel, Kamen Teacher BLACK (????????BLACK). On July 6, NTV premiered the live-action KAMEN TEACHER television series starring Taisuke Fujigaya of the pop group Kis-My-Ft2 as the manga`s protagonist, Goto Araki. In the show, Araki transfers to Hanasora School and becomes the teacher of sophomore Class C, made up of troublemakers and delinquents. While Araki is authorized to use force he chooses to engage students with his mind and heart, leaving his fists as a last resort. The 12 episode series concluded on September 28, 2013, and it was announced the much of the cast and crew would reunite for KAMEN TEACHER THE MOVIE (?????????????, Gekijooban Kamen Tiichaa), opening in Japanese cinemas on February 22, 2014. In addition to Fujigaya, returning cast members include Aya Omasa, Takumi Saito, Kotaro Shiga, Fuma Kikuchi from the boy band Sexy Zone, Jesse, Yuta Kishi and Taiga Kyomoto from the Kansai Johnny`s Jr. agency, Goki Maeda, Seika Taketomi, plus screenwriter Junpei Yamaoka and director Kentaro Moriya. Opposing Araki`s efforts to reform Hanasora School is another teacher, Kohei Ramon, played by Kenichi Endo (DEKA RANGER THE MOVIE, 20TH CENTURY BOYS).
