Originally scheduled for September 11, 2020, the Toei anime feature film PRETTY GUARDIAN SAILOR MOON ETERNAL THE MOVIE Part 1 (åŠ‡å ´ç‰ˆã€Œç¾Žå°‘å¥³æˆ¦å£«ã‚»ãƒ¼ãƒ©ãƒ¼ãƒ ãƒ¼ãƒ³Eternalã€ã€Šå‰ç·¨ã€‹, GekijÅ-ban BishÅjo Senshi SÄ“rÄ MÅ«n Eternal “Zenpenâ€) will now open in Japanese cinemas on January 8, 2021. The theatrical release was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Toei has announced Part 2 will be released on February 11, 2021. Inspired by the Dead Moon story arc from the manga, the movie is a “Fighting Love Story†depicting Chibiusa Tsukino’s faint first love and the growth of the Sailor Guardians. The original author, Naoko Takeuchi, is in charge of supervision on the project, and the director is Chiaki Kon (SAILOR MOON CRYSTAL, BACK STREET GIRLS). The character designs were created by Kazuko Tadano, who was in charge of the designs and animation direction of the 1990s SAILOR MOON anime series.
