Five years after the release of the JU-ON: WHITE GHOST/JU-ON: BLACK GHOST double-feature in Japan and THE GRUDGE 3 in America, the long-running J-Horror franchise returns with JU-ON: THE BEGINNING OF THE END (?? -???????-, Juon: Owari no Hajimari), opening at the Shinjuku Wald 9 and other Japanese cinemas on June 28th. The 10th film in the JU-ON/THE GRUDGE series* is written and directed by Masayuki Ochiai. No stranger to the J-Horror genre, Ochiai had previously directed PARASITE EVE (????????, Parasaito Ivu, 1997), HYPNOSIS (??, Saimin, 1999), INFECTION (??, Kansen, 2004) and SHUTTER (?????, Shattaa, 2008). JU-ON: THE BEGINNING OF THE END brings the story back to the cursed house where the Saeki family came to their gruesome end and unleashed a terrifying curse that kills all who set foot inside. Promotional materials for the film promise it will reveal the long-hidden, shocking truth behind that curse and how it spread to create hell on earth. 26 year-old model-turned-actress Nozomi Sasaki stars. After several years as a fashion model, Sasaki became a commentator for Dream Fighting Championships. She then transitioned to film and television with roles in MY RAINY DAYS (????, Tenshi no Koi, 2009), AFRO TANAKA (?????, Afuro Tanaka, 2012), PAIKAJI NANKAI SAKUSEN (????????, 2012) and FU-ZOKU CHANGED MY LIFE (????????????www, Fuzoku Ittara Jinsei Kawatta www, 2013). In JU-ON: THE BEGINNING OF THE END Sasaki plays Yui, a third grade elementary school teacher. When one of her students, a boy named Toshio Saeki, misses class for several days Yui visits his home to check on him. She discovers the house to be deserted, but afterwards the young teacher begins to experience increasingly bizarre and horrifying phenomena. Yui realizes these events are guiding her back to the Saeki house... but what will she find there? * Sam Raimi`s Ghost House Pictures also recently announced a reboot of their American THE GRUDGE franchise.
