Limited Signed and Numbered Edition of Japanese Science Fiction Film Poster and Lobby Card Reference Guide Source: Sean Linkenback

Anticipation for Sean Linkenback’s new poster-art book, The Art of Japanese Monsters had already been building in advance of its scheduled May 14th arrival date and now Linkenback has announced a deluxe version that is sure to whet the appetite of collectors: The Art of Japanese Monsters Leatherbound Deluxe Edition • Limited to 100 numbered copies • Each copy will be hand-bound in heirloom-quality leather • 20 Additional pages of posters (a whopping 250 pages total!) • Exclusive print from Hugo-Award winning artist Bob Eggleton • Each print will be autographed by Akira Takarada and Haruo Nakajima "This is something I had wanted to put together for a long-time," Linkenback told SciFi Japan. "I had been working for a while trying to get the logistics figured out, and thanks to some help from Jim Cirronella it all came together. It started off with just wanting to do a more expanded edition in a keepsake binding and then the idea just kind of snowballed from there. So I’ve got 20 more pages of posters in it that won’t be seen in the regular edition and it is almost all stuff from the 50s and 60s including some very rare items." Discussing the exclusive print by Bob Eggleton, Linkenback stated that, "Of course I have been a fan and then collector of Bob’s work since I first met him in the early 90s at a DragonCon when we discovered our mutual love for Godzilla. So I approached him about doing a painting that we would turn into a print for this book. He came up with a beautiful sketch idea featuring Godzilla, Nakajima, and Takarada which he will paint and then turn into an exclusive print for the book. It will not be available anywhere else, ever." "And of course the icing on the cake was getting Akira Takarada and Haruo Nakajima involved in the project. A really big hand goes out to Jim for helping that become reality. So they will hand-sign each print next to their likeness to make for what should be a treasured keepsake for any collector."

Due to the logistics of the actors` signing, the Leatherbound Deluxe Edition will not be able to ship until the first week of June. But Linkenback will start accepting pre-orders today (March 16th) through his Kaiju Posters Database Facebook page. And, with only 100 copies available, it will not take long for the edition to sell out. Linkenback stressed that he will NOT be offering The Art of Japanese Monsters Leatherbound Deluxe Edition through Diamond, Amazon, or any other traditional booksellers. The edition can only be purchased through the Kaiju Posters Database Facebook page and at conventions this summer (for as long as the supply holds out). He added: "If anyone has already ordered the regular edition and would like to upgrade to this one, we will be happy to credit their full purchase price towards the limited edition for as long as supplies last."
