Author: Daisuke Ishizuka On March 11, 2011, a large-scale earthquake (maximum seismic intensity of seven) occurred in Japan. I was at the office in Tokyo at that time. Tokyo did not receive much physical damage, but the trains were stopped and the traffic was disrupted. Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefecture were the severely damaged areas. Sukagawa-city of Fukushima, well known as the birthplace of Eiji Tsuburaya, was also disaster area. The Sukagawa city office building was so damaged by the earthquake that the office workers had to evacuate. In May, 2017, a new office building was completed and an Ultra Hero came there from Nebula M78. A 3.5m tall monument of Father of Ultra was erected on the square of the city office building. In addition, an outdoor lamp with a Mother of Ultra design was set on the right side of the monument, and an Ultraman Taro design was set on the left. The Father of Ultra monument is the symbol of recovery from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake.
