ULTRAMAN (ウルトラマン　空想特撮シリーズ, Urutoraman Kūsō Tokusatsu Shirīzu) is the gold standard of Japanese special effects television series. At the time of its original broadcast in 1966, it recorded an audience rating high of 42.8%. Even now, 55 years after the hero`s debut, new generations of Ultraman are born, and the franchise has expanded with fans across all generations and around the world. 2021 will mark the 55th anniversary of ULTRAMAN. To celebrate, Tsuburaya Productions is planning a whole host of new films, series, events, and merchandise for fans to enjoy. In preparation for these exciting developments, Tsuburaya has kicked off the Ultraman 55th Anniversary Project (『ウルトラマン』55周年プロジェクト, “Urutoraman” 55-Shūnen Purojekuto) by unveiling the project logo! The Project begins this month in Japan with the release of the ULTRAMAN 55TH ANNIVERSARY ULTRAMAN ARCHIVES: ULTRAMAN MovieNEX Release (ウルトラマン55周年記念ULTRAMAN ARCHIVES『ウルトラマン』MovieNEX発売, Urutoraman 55 Shūnenkinen ULTRAMAN ARCHIVES “Urutoraman” MovieNEX Hatsuba) deluxe Blu-ray box set on Wednesday, November 25. An Ultraman Pop-Up Shop will also be set up at the HMV & BOOKS SHIBUYA in Tokyo from Tuesday, November 24 to Monday, December 7. Ultraman 55th Anniversary products will be on sale, and there will be a display of replica uniforms and props from the original ULTRAMAN series. As the project continues to develop, news will be posted on the 55th Anniversary Official Website, which will be launched soon.
