Author: Daisuke Ishizuka Official Site: ulfes.com/2013 (Japan) ULTRAMAN GINGA (?????????, Urutoraman Ginga, 2013) is the new Ultraman television series of 11 episodes. Episodes 1-6 were broadcast on TV Tokyo from July to August, and the remaining 5 episodes will be on the air in November to December. The ULTRAMAN GINGA – THEATER SPECIAL (?????????????????, Urutoraman Ginga Gekijoo Supesharu, 2013) is now playing in Japanese theaters.
ULTRAMAN GINGA is the 27th television series in the franchise, earning a world record. On September 12, Tsuburaya Productions announced that Guinness World Records has certified the Ultraman series as having “the most spin-offs”. As the latest Ultraman, Ginga made his first ULTRAMAN FESTIVAL (?????????????) appearance at this year`s show. Attendees were welcomed by a display of the hero -- complete with lighting devices on his head and chest -- near the festival entrance. And a full scale Ultraman Ginga was prepared in the exhibition hall. Guests could have their photo taken while posing on his left hand. On August 30th, three main players of ULTRAMAN GINGA attended ULTRAMAN FESTIVAL 2013; Mr. Takuya Negishi (Ginga`s human alter-ego, Hikaru Raidou), Ms. Mio Miyatake (Misuzu Isurugi) and Ms. Kirara (Chigusa Kuno). The actors held a talk and Q&A session. Unfortunately, photography were prohibited during their sessions. The ULTRAMAN LIVE STAGE is 30 minutes battle action show featuring the Ultra family vs monsters. The main character of this stage show was Ultraman Ginga. Usually, footage of the human heroes transforming into Ultramen is shown on a screen during ULTRAMAN LIVE STAGE. But, on this day, Mr. Takuya Negishi was at ULTRAMAN FESTIVAL 2013 so he performed the transforming action onstage in person.
