Japanese newspaper publisher Hochi Shimbun Co., Ltd. has revealed that the tabloid newspaper Ultraseven 55th Anniversary Special Issue (ウルトラセブン55周年特別号, Urutorasebun 55 Shūnen Tokubetsu Gō), celebrating fifty-five years of ULTRASEVEN (ウルトラセブン, Urutorasebun, 1967-68), will go on sale from news sellers and other retailers on July 29th. Running 24 fulll-color pages + 8 posters, the publication is must-have collectible for ULTRASEVEN fans.
Cast members Koji Moritsugu (Dan Moroboshi), Yuriko Hishim (Anne Yuri), Sandayu Dokumamushi (Shigeru Furuhashi) and Bin Furuya (Amagi) have each chosen their "three most memorable episodes" and introduced them with nostalgic photos. The front page of the bonus "Extract Poster" features "All Enemy Monsters & Aliens" from UlLTRASEVEN, and the back page is dedicated to Ultraseven's special moves and the main equipment of the Ultra Guard. Also included is a look at the latest Ultraman program, ULTRAMAN BLAZAR (ウルトラマンブレーザー, Urutoraman Burēzā), that debuted this past July 8th.
Prior to the release of Ultraseven 55th Anniversary Special Issue, the Ultraseven 55th Anniversary Special Limited Edition (ウルトラセブン55周年特別限定版, Urutorasebun 55 Shūnen Tokubetsu Genteiban) will be available for purchase at the "Ultra Heroes EXPO 2023 Summer Festival" (a.k.a. ULSAMA) which opens this Saturday, July 22 at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro. This edition, which will also be available from select bookstores, contains all the contents of the Special Issue plus two bonus collectibles; a hologram sticker in A5 size (148mm x 210mm) and a postcard, each adorned with the official Ultraseven 55th anniversary logo.
In commemoration of the release of the Ultraseven 55th Anniversary Special Issue, the results of the "My Choice of These Three Stories" contest solicited by The Sports Hochi will also be announced on the Sports Hochi news site on July 22, the day the Special Limited Edition goes on sale.
