The Japanese toy company X-Plus Co., Ltd. is now providing SciFi Japan with information and photos for their upcoming giant monster products. We kick things off with a preview of Toho and Tsuburaya Pro figures scheduled for release in late March 2013. X-Plus`s monster figures can be purchased directly from the company`s official Shounen Ric website. The March entry in X-Plus` Toho Large Monster Series is Mechagodzilla 2 from the final Showa Godzilla movie, TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA (????????, Mekagojira no Gyakushuu, 1975). The original Mechagodzilla 2 costume was recently displayed in the Tokusatsu- Special Effects Museum- exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo. The upper arms of the figure display the "MG2" insignia. Figures purchased online from Shounen Ric will include an exclusive bonus feature; Mechagodzilla`s head can be removed to reveal the cyborg`s electronic brain.

The Monochrome Varan comes packaged with a smaller Flying Varan figure, also with a black-and-white paint scheme. The aliens could also combine to form the Ultraman-sized Giant Yapool, which made its first appearance in ULTRAMAN ACE Episode 23- REVERSAL! CALLING ON ZOFFY (??! ???????, Gyakuten!
