A SCIFI JAPAN EXCLUSIVE

The Japanese collectibles company X-Plus Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and nearly 120 daikaiju-sized photos of their giant monster figures scheduled for release in September 2018. This month marks a big change for X-Plus, as they have updated their Japanese Shounen Ric website into the international Shonen-Ric as X-Plus site, with shipping on some items also now available to customers in North America, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan. The new Shonen-Ric will continue to offer Exclusives and Limited Editions with bonus features or extra pieces not available from other retailers. The standard "General Distribution" versions of the figures will still be sold by stores and online retailers, including SFJ sponsor Anime Jungle. Most X-Plus figures are recommended for fans and collectors ages 15 years and older. X-Plus will continue to share photos of upcoming products with SciFi Japan, allowing us to exclusively present pics in higher quantities and larger sizes than any other site.

FATHER OF ULTRA (?????????, Kiseki! Urutora no Chichi), the first appearance of Father of Ultra. After Alien Hipporit -- aka Alien Hipporito -- defeated the Ultraman Brothers Ultraman, Zoffy, Ultra Seven, Ultraman Jack and Ultraman Ace, Father of Ultra dramatically appeared to save them! Each figure comes with a built-in LED light system that works with a special display stand. The eyes of Father of Ultra can glow, and the color timer on his chest can light up in either blue or red. Alien Hipporit can have its eyes and belly part glowing, as it did in the ULTRAMAN ACE television series. The light-up gimmick for each figure uses four LR44 coin batteries (sold separately). Set Contents Ultraman Statue Display Stand Instruction Manual In July 2016, X-Plus released the Real Master Collection PLUS: Ultraman 50th Anniversary statue to celebrate the broadcast debut of ULTRAMAN (??????, Urutoraman, 1966-67). The statue is now being reissued with a few minor changes from the anniversary edition. The poly statue recreates the dramatic entrance pose of the original Ultraman with a sculpt based on the popular C-Type version, capturing the design of the hero’s mask and suit from the final episodes of the classic television series. The figure comes with a display stand with built-in LED lights, allowing Ultraman`s eyes and color timer to glow as they do in the TV series. The display stand for the 50th Anniversary statue included a miniature of the Science Patrol’s Jet Beetle. The “Soft Kaiju” version of Verokron has the monster`s red missile-launching organ molded in soft vinyl (Sofvi), and other parts of its body made of hard vinyl. Sculpted by RYO, with production and painting supervised by Kaibutsuya studio, the figure depicted the King of the Monsters in an action pose with a twisted torso and tail. The following month, a Shounen Ric Limited Edition version was released with an exclusive “Roar Head” featuring a split lower jaw (as seen when Godzilla fired his heat ray in the film). The figure was painted with luminescent purple highlights to simulate the monster’s body powering up for attack, and came with an interchangeable standard version (closed mouth) head. One year later, X-Plus is reissuing the Gigantic Series figure with some changes. The new edition features the standard version paint scheme, but with a new head to depict Godzilla roaring.
