Earlier this month, SciFi Japan posted details for the giant monster figures scheduled for release by X-Plus Co., Ltd. in May 2017 that included photos of some unpainted prototypes. X-Plus has now provided high-res pics of the painted figures so we’re back with an update. X-Plus` monster figures can be purchased directly from the company`s official Shounen Ric website. Shounen Ric offers Exclusives and Limited Editions with bonus features or extra pieces not available from other retailers. Introduced in ACE Episode 3: BURN! SUPER-BEAST HELL (??? ????, Moeru Choujuu Jigokuu), Vakishim is a Super-Beast synthesized from a caterpillar and a space monster by the evil alien Yapool. The fan favorite returned in ULTRAMAN MEBIUS (??????????, Uruotraman Mebiusu, 2006-07) and has appeared in various Ultra shows and movies over the past decade. The FAVORITE SCULPTORS LINE offers soft vinyl figures based on previously released/limited edition models from top sculptors. It will act as an "umbrella line", incorporating figures from X-Plus` Toho and Tsuburaya Daikaiju and 30cm Series, the Gigantic Series, and more. The 30cm scale Vakishim is sculpted by Koji Sugimoto of the Japanese studio GORT, which has produced figures of Tsuburuya creatures for Medicom Toy as well as sculpts of American characters like the Predator and T-1000. Sugimoto accurately captures the look of the monster with suit wrinkles and other details, including metal fittings on the nails of Vakishim`s hands. Shounen Ric is offering a limited edition version with an exclusive light-up feature for fourteen places on Vakishim`s body, including the eyes and back. Set Contents Plooma X-Plus continues their release of figures based on kaiju from Tsuburaya Productions’ RETURN OF ULTRAMAN (???????????, Kaettekita Urutoraman, 1971-72) with the beetle monster, Plooma. Introduced in Episode 31: BETWEEN THE DEVIL AND AN ANGEL (????????…, Akuma to Tenshi no ma ni...), Plooma was used as a decoy by the Alien Zelan in order to gain control of Ultraman Jack`s weapon, the Ultra Bracelet. Shortly after Plooma`s appearance in RETURN OF ULTRAMAN, Tsuburaya Pro modified the creature`s costume to create the monster Dustpan for their MIRROR MAN (?????, Miraaman, 1971-72) television series.
